Centroid DIY CNC Standard Limited Warranty and Warranty Claim Procedure
By accepting delivery or operating this product, you the buyer accept all of the terms of this warranty. If you do not wish to accept the terms of this agreement, immediately call to make arrangements for the return of the product.
Centroid warrants to the original purchaser that any part of its product purchased will be free of defects in workmanship and parts for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of delivery (hereinafter "Warranty Period"). During the Warranty Period, Centroid will, at its option: (1) provide replacement parts necessary to repair the product; (2) replace the product with a comparable product; or (3) refund the amount Customer paid for the product upon its return. Replacement parts or products will be new or serviceably used, comparable in function and performance to the original part or product, and warranted for the longer of thirty days for the US or the remainder of the warranty period. Any additional purchases or upgrades will not extend this warranty. This product warranty covers normal use only. This product warranty does not cover damage caused during shipment and any damage caused by: actions that are beyond Centroid's control, including without limitation, impacts, fluids, fire, flood, wind, earthquake, lightning or similar disaster, war, lockout, epidemic, destruction of production facilities, riot, insurrection, or material unavailability; unauthorized modifications, attachments or peripherals; improper use, environment, installation or electrical supply; improper maintenance; any other misuse, abuse or mishandling. Except for the warranties expressed in this agreement, Centroid disclaims all other warranties, either express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, other than those warranties implied by and incapable of exclusion, restriction or modification under the applicable law. The term of any implied warranties that cannot be disclaimed are limited to the term of this agreement. Centroid’s and customer's maximum liability to the other is limited to the purchase price customer paid for products or services plus interest as allowed under the applicable law. Neither customer nor Centroid will be liable to the other for property damage, personal injury, loss of use, interruption of business, "down time", customer's time, loss of use of related equipment, lost profits, lost data or other consequential, incidental, punitive or special damages, however caused, whether for breach of warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), absolute or strict liability or otherwise, other than those damages that are incapable of limitation, exclusion or restriction under the applicable law. Acorn is an educational DIY (do-it-yourself) product. Centroid makes no warranties or claims of safety or suitability for any application. Any schematics or wiring hookup instructions presented on Centroid’s website or in the online forums are incomplete educational examples for discussion only. The user, DIY’er is creating his/her own CNC device, which may include dangerous voltages, powerful motors and resulting dangerous unexpected forceful motion, of dangerous cutters and fast moving heavy machine parts. If you are not qualified to accept all responsibility and/or you do not agree, DO NOT PROCEED and request a refund.

Warranty Return:.Replacement and the decision to repair Centroid manufactured parts and products is at the discretion of Centroid. A “report.zip” file or part serial number(s) is required in order for Centroid Tech Support to issue an RMA number for replacement and repair of parts. A Centroid issued RMA number is required in order for Centroid to accept return shipments of defective parts. Contact support@centroidcnc.com or 814 353 9256 (press 4 for support) to request an RMA number. The Buyer is responsible for the shipping charges to send defective parts to Centroid. Shipping charges of warranty repaired products sent from Centroid to the Buyer will be paid by Centroid. Parts will be sent via same method used in original order. All expedited shipping charges will be at the Buyer’s expense. In the event that Centroid determines that the parts returned were not defective, the Buyer shall pay all subsequent costs incurred by Centroid due to part replacement.
Acorn Warranty Claim has a specific procedure:
To initiate an Acorn warranty claim:
1.) Purchase a replacement Acorn kit on the Centroid website (not Amazon!).
2.) Forward the Paypal receipt to support@centroidcnc.com requesting an RMA for return of the defective Acorn board.
3.) Ship the defective Acorn unit back to Centroid according to the instructions accompanying the RMA email from support@centroidcnc.com. Write the RMA number in the Address. Centroid, Attn: RMA XXXXX, 159 Gates Rd. , Howard, PA 16841. (Acorn boards returned to Centroid for warranty claim must be accompanied by an RMA issued by Centroid. Please do not ship without an RMA number).
(This same warranty procedure applies to Acorn Relay Module kits as well).
If a returned Acorn is found with defective parts covered by warranty, this will trigger a Paypal refund of the Acorn purchase price and shipping cost to the customer. (the refund typically will occur within 7 working days from receipt of Acorn return).
If parts are different from the original configuration and/or obviously damaged by the customer this will result in no refund to be issued.
Return/Refunds: Software is non returnable and non refundable. Software is transferable to new hardware. Hardware is returnable subject to the terms provided herein, all returns for refunds must be made within fourteen (14) days from the date of delivery. All questions or comments relating to returns should be referred to diysales@centroidcnc.com or by calling Centroid DIY sales at (814) 353-9218. To qualify for a refund, the product must be in re-sellable condition, which shall be determined at Centroid's sole discretion. Factors affecting the re-sellable condition of a product shall include, but are not limited to: obvious signs of use or abuse; customer negligence; excessive wear and tear and/or damaged/missing product or parts. Where it is determined, at Centroid's sole discretion, that the product is, in fact, re-sellable, Customer will be given a refund or credit for the product minus a 15% restocking fee. The cost of shipping is not included in any refund.. (a refund request does not include shipping cost either way in the refund amount) Customer should expect a refund within 7 to 14 business days of Centroid's receipt of the product.
Acorn Swap-Out Program: In the event of user inflicted damage, Centroid offers an Acorn board Swap-out program. Acorn Swap-Out Cost: $199.
To order an Acorn Swap-Out: E-mail support@centroidcnc.com the Acorn board serial number and request an Acorn swap-out, Centroid will email a paypal link for $199 and issue an RMA number. Pay for the swap-out board and ship back the damaged Acorn board (with BBG) following Centroid RMA guidelines found in the RMA email from support@centroidcnc.com. Upon receiving the RMA, Centroid will ship a replacement Acorn board (no power supply or cables included just a swap-out Acorn with BBG.) UPS GND. Any License files purchased for the returned board will be transferred to the swap-out board and provided via email along with tracking number of the swap-out shipment.
Limitations: Centroid’s warranty applies only to Centroid products, manufactured by Centroid, and sold by Centroid and its authorized dealers. Centroid is in no way responsible for equipment or machinery manufactured by or sold by others. This warranty does not cover any unauthorized modifications of hardware or software made by the Buyer or others. In the event that modifications are made, all Centroid warranties and support will be terminated.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by abuse, improper maintenance, improper installation, operator error, neglect, accident, or acts of God. As the Buyer, you are responsible for utilizing this product according to normal, accepted, and expected industrial electrical and machining practices. As the Buyer, you are also responsible for required maintenance. Failure to perform required maintenance and adjustments can be grounds for denying a warranty claim.
Centroid software is licensed for use only in conjunction with Centroid products. Centroid Corporation makes no warranties, either expressed or implied, with respect to software supplied with Centroid products, its quality, performance, merchantability, or fitness for any particular purpose. The Buyer assumes the entire cost of all servicing, updates, corrections, and any incidental or consequential damages.
Centroid’s liability for damages to you or others arising from use or misuse of Centroid’s products, or for any other claim related to this product shall be limited to the amount of the original purchase price. In no event will Centroid be liable to you for any damages caused by your failure to perform work or other responsibilities. Centroid is not responsible for any lost profit, lost savings, lost earnings, or other incidental or consequential damages, even if Centroid has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Centroid is not liable for any claim by you based on any third party claim.
All expressed and implied warranties for this product, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the warranty period of 1 year.
Binding Arbitration: Any controversy or claim involving or arising out of the conditions of this sale, subsequent product utilization, conditions of the warranty agreement, applications or events arising from this sale, breach of agreements, or any other discrepancy or dispute between Centroid Corporation. and the Buyer, shall be settled by arbitration pursuant to Pennsylvania State law and in accordance with the arbitration rules of the American Arbitration Association. Binding arbitration shall be entered into on written request of either Centroid Corporation or the Buyer. Arbitration shall be filed in the state of Pennsylvania, in the county of Centre and all parties hereto agree to forbear from filing a claim in any other jurisdiction. The arbitrator shall have no authority to change any provisions of this warranty agreement; the arbitrator’s sole authority shall be to interpret or apply the provisions of this warranty agreement. The expenses of arbitration conducted pursuant to this arbitration filing shall be born by the parties in such proportion as the arbitrator shall decide.
