TB318 Rev2 – Setup Parameters for Automation Direct GS20 Inverter
Objective
The purpose of this document is to provide the information needed to correctly setup the Automation Direct GS20 inverter for
a Centroid CNC control
Wiring Terminals
Terminal Meaning Typical wire color
R/L1 S/L2 T/L3 Incoming 3 phase AC power BLK or BLK/RED/WHT
U/T1 V/T2 W/T3 3 phase power out to motor BLK or BLK/RED/WHT
B1 B2 Braking resistor BLK or WHT
FWD Run Forward WHT
REV Run Reverse BLK
DI4 Reset not default must set P2 04 = 5 GRN
DCM Input Sequence Common BLU
AI1 Analog frequency reference 0 10V BRN
ACM Analog common VIO plus WHT/BLK
AO1 Analog output WHT/RED
R1C Fault normally closed ORG
DO1 Zero speed set P2 16 = 6 WHT/BRN or TAN
R1 and DOC DC common 0VDC YEL
+24V STO1 STO2 Safe Torque Off function Various
How to change a parameter
For this example we will set P02 04 = 5
1 Press MENU as needed to show the parameter screen typically "H 0 00"
2 Press ENTER to show the parameter group e g "00"
3 Press the Up Arrow as needed to select the desired group e g twice for 02
4 Press ENTER to show the parameter number e g "0200"
5 Press the Up Arrow as needed to select the desired parameter e g up four times for 0204
6 Press ENTER to display current value
7 Press Up and Down arrows to change value e g up until value shows "5"
8 Press ENTER to accept changed value and go on to next parameter
9 Press MENU as needed to return to main parameter screen e g "H 0 00"

Notes
If you wish to use the Safe Torque Off STO function as an alternative to interrupting the incoming line power during an
emergency stop condition while maintaining a reliable drive inhibit then wire from the +24V terminal through two independent
poles of a safety relay back to STO1 and STO2
See page 2 16 of the GS20 Drive User Manual for important information regarding the drive's built in RF filtering and the
need to remove the internal RFI jumper when connected to unbalanced power supplies such as center grounded delta
power or when using a phase converter
